A Distant Shore

There was no school today because we declared it a holiday in lieu of Polling Day, and so instead of having lessons, we planned a simple but very enjoyable morning at East Coast Park. The purpose of the event was to get together, to have fun, and to say goodbye and a huge 'thank you' to our 3 graduating choir members, Nadiah, Marselly and Amirah for their years in the garden.

We had our farewell ceremony... Zhafri's started a new annual tradition of burying graduating members in the sand and singing to them. All the graduating members and current Sec 3 choir members swear that they'll come back when Zhafri graduates to make sure he gets buried in the sand too!

And after that... we had tremendous fun playing in the sea and on the beach too. Everyone got soggy and wet, and it was an afternoon to remember

We all go back to lessons tomorrow again, and we'll be going full steam for preparation for the choral exam on the 2nd August. It'll be loads of hard work, which will pay off to great success if we put our minds to it, and soon it'll be time to celebrate once again, as a choir, united in song.

Choir Beach Party!!!

Hi everyone, see you in school at 7.45am on 28/6... wait at the front porch for transport to pick us up... bus leaves at 8.00am sharp, and stragglers will need to make their own way there if they're going to be late.

The outing's for choir members - the new people who we've appropriated for the 'big' choir are welcome to join us too if they are so inclined. Will be fun, and there will be food, singing and the sun, sand and sea. Looks like its going to be a great morning, so bring your cameras and prepare for some happy memory-making.

Don't forget that this will be the last choir event including Nadiah, Selly and Amirah... its their farewell party in appreciation to 3 years of wonderful service! There is always room for old blossoms in the voices in the garden.

RENT, movie version - Seasons of Love

Here's a different version, for your comparison, listen out to treatment of the solos. I would prefer the solos in this to the broadway one.

Enjoy =)

Monserrat Boys Choir

Something for all you choir people to watch - is a short clip tho', coz I needed the disc space on my camera for photos. this is the Monserrat Boys Choir, which has been around since the year 1330! Wow! The church they're performing in is gorgeous too, and it was a full-house because it was Sunday morning and everyone in Barcelona goes up to Mount Monserrat to hear the choir because they're good.

Anyway, if you want to see some of my Spain photos, click here.

Holiday Practices

choir holiday prac

We've been having holiday practices in the IT resource room because the music room we normally use is out of bounds due to the examinations. Our new members have been coming, and some have settled in very very well. We're most delighted to have them on board, and they make practice all the more fun.

Oh yes, and here's something to watch... its cute! :)
